Laboratories

These Laboratories, in general, were in good working conditions till early to mid nineties. A PC-1 submitted for the up-gradation/strengthening of the laboratories of the Centre got approved on 22-01-04 by the HEC for a sum of Rs. 36.954 millions. The equipment has been purchased under this project. The installation of XRF is completed and the upgradation of EPMA, with a PC-based EDS system, is under process.

A new paleontological laboratory has been set up and analytical work has already been started on the microfossils. Establishment of a fossil gallery is also in progress.

The recent up-gradation of the computer lab. includes addition of Pentium IV computers and printers with UPS. The Centre has supplied a computer to every faculty member in his/her office. All these machines are connected through networking, which is extended to the library also. The University of Peshawar has connected the Faculty of Science and the administration block through networking and the Centre is now connected through this network system. This network system has also been connected round the clock to the Internet.

A number of other laboratory tools/equipments, field gear and transport, projection facilities, drawing facilities, etc., are available in the Centre.
